This study documents what most observers know that draconian immigration policies and enforcement practices cause distress for Latino parents – regardless of residency status – that then adversely impacts their parenting of their adolescent children.

Race-Related Traumatic Events Online and Mental Health Among Adolescents of Color

Published: June 28, 2021

This study is the first of its kind to document the negative impact on adolescents of viewing race-related trauma events online. Viewing viral videos is associated with depressive and PTSD symptoms among adolescents of color, more so with girls than boys and especially so for Latinx youth.
