Many of the behavioral and mental health issues faced by youth who are homeless are similar to those faced by anyone experiencing homelessness. However, youth who are homeless are still developing psychologically, cognitively, and physically. Before becoming homeless, these youth may have endured a chaotic and often violent home life and they may be distrustful of authority and adults. In offering supports and services it is important to acknowledge and respond to the context and the experience of young adults who experience homelessness. In this webinar, staff of the Boston Youth Advisory Board and the Center for Social Innovation discuss these issues and how to provide effective, sensitive supports.
