The article describes the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Criminal Mental Health Project (CMHP) also known as the Miami Model, which was developed in 2000 to streamline screening, identify program participants, support with reentry, expedite access to state and federal benefits and improve outcomes for individuals with mental health needs in the criminal justice system. The program is effective at not replicating services and similarly it is cost efficient.
